What are Meta Tags?
Meta tags are very important coding statements in the HTML code of the blog or website template that provides information about
the Title, description, author, language and important keywords of a website. They provide this information to search engines. With this information, Search engines able to know that what your website is about.
Why Meta Tags are important for boosting SEO of a blog?
Meta tags are extremely important in SEO of a blog. If you want to drive huge traffic to your website through search engines, then Meta tags can do it well for you. Meta tags tells the search engines about your blog title, language, description and keywords so that when a user searches the web for the material which is relevant to your blog/website, the search engine will suggest your blog for him and in this way your blog gains good position in search engine and gain good amount of traffic.
How to add Meta tags in a Blogger Blog?
1. First of all go to www.blogger.com and sign in using your Gmail ID.
2. On blogger dashboard, click on the arrow pointing downward on the right upper corner of the page as in the image below:
3. After clicking this icon, a list appears. Select "Template" from the list. On template page, click on "Edit HTML".
4. A page appears on which you can edit your blog's HTML code. In the HTML coding, Search for . You can find it easily as it is located at the starting lines of the HTML document or you can search tag by pressing Ctrl + F and then write in the space provided. There are two tags present in the HTML Document. You have to place the meta tags in between these two tags.
These are the Meta Tags which you have to put in your Blog's HTML document:

<meta CONTENT='Description' NAME='Description'/>
<meta CONTENT='Keywords' NAME='Keywords'/>

<meta CONTENT='Yes or No' NAME='Copyright'/>
<meta CONTENT='.....' NAME='Distribution'/>
<meta CONTENT='.....' NAME='Robots'/>
<meta CONTENT='Blog Title' NAME='Title'/>
<meta CONTENT='Name' NAME='Author'/>
<meta CONTENT='Description' NAME='Description'/>
<meta CONTENT='Keywords' NAME='Keywords'/>
<meta CONTENT='Language' NAME='Language'/>
<meta CONTENT='Yes or No' NAME='Copyright'/>
<meta CONTENT='.....' NAME='Distribution'/>
<meta CONTENT='.....' NAME='Robots'/>
5. Search the word <head> in the HTML document of the template. You can easily search <head> as it is located in the starting lines of the HTML document. There are two <head> tags. You have to place these meta tags in between these two head tags.
6. You can clearly see the Green highlighted words in the above codes. Replace these highlighted words as follows
- Replace "Blog Title" with your Blog Name such as "Genuine Earnings". It is called title tag.
- Replace "Name" with your name such as Muhammad Kamran etc. It is called Author meta tag.
- Replace "Description" with your blog description. For example: "Make money working from home. This blog is about genuine and trusted online earning methods on which you can fully trust without any hesitation". This is called Description meta tag.
- Replace "Keywords" with suitable keywords that matches your blog title and blog posts. You can use as many keywords as you can. Use the keywords that best describes your blog posts. This is called Keyword meta tag.
- Replace "Language" with the language in which your blog is written such as English. This is called language meta tag.
- In Copyright tag, write 'yes' if your blog's content is copyrighted. Write 'No' if it is not copyrighted.
- In distribution tag, replace '.....' with 'Global'.
- In Robots tag, replace '.....' with 'All'.
Now click on 'Save Template' and its done! You have successfully added important meta tags in your blog's template. These meta tags will surely improve your blog ranking in search engine and increase your overall blog's SEO.
